The case wall

You learned "книга" means book. But in Russian, one noun has 12 forms. Every app ignores this. Native speakers notice immediately.

б

The verb maze

Every Russian verb has two aspects. Plus prefixes that shift meaning. "I'll read" and "I was reading" are different words entirely.

в

The recognition trap

You can recognize words on a screen. You can't produce them in a sentence. That's not fluency - that's a party trick.

The real problem

The gap isn't vocabulary size.
It's vocabulary in context.

Anki gives you words. Textbooks give you grammar. Nobody gives you both together. Slova teaches words as systems, not dictionary entries.
